Keep Britain Tidy’s Eco-School programme have been so impressed with the work done towards improving the marine environment over the last year that QEH has been awarded Marine Theme School of the Year and will be attending an award ceremony later this month.

Over 1000 schools across England were awarded the Eco-School Green Flag status this year alone, so it’s a great achievement to be awarded School of the Year for one of the themes. Regular local litter picks, litter surveys, beach cleans, plastic amnesties and projects, marine art work and clothing swap shops have proved our commitment to reducing and monitoring waste ending up in our marine environments locally, so a huge thanks to students and staff alike for their involvement and support over the year!

QEH’s annual Lizzies Awards celebrated pupil creativity with an inspiring showcase of short films based on the themes ‘Three Wishes’ and ‘Myths’.

Live theatre is here to stay at QEH, as pupils from Years 3 and 4 put on an incredible production of Jack and the Beanstalk last week in our theatre.

This is a really welcoming school.  All the teachers make me feel good about myself and the older pupils are really nice as well.
