The U15s arrived at the Colston’s 7s Tournament ready for a day of highly competitive Rugby, featuring many of the strongest schools in Bristol.

The conditions were perfect and encouraged fast-paced and attractive rugby throughout the competition. QEH began their campaign with a strong win over Clifton High and an even more comprehensive win over Clevedon. They backed this up with two more wins over BGS and a very strong Castle A team, finishing top of their pool and qualifying for the final of the overall cup.

Here they met the pre-tournament favourites, Clifton College, a side that had averaged over 5 tries per game in their pool. The QEH team brought a level of intensity that stifled Clifton’s play, forcing numerous turnovers and opportunities. They limited Clifton to only one try in the game and managed to create many opportunities for themselves, scoring twice, and deservedly winning the final 12-7, and with it, the overall competition.

In other 7s success, the 1st VII beat BGS in the final to win the Plate at the Colston’s Tournament and the U16s were third in their group at the Wycliffe 7s.

The U13s won the Plate at The Downs School Tournament with wins over Llandaff, Beaudesert, The Downs and Prior Park. They also finished runners up to Clifton College in the Bristol Schools 7s, with wins over Colston’s, BGS, Clifton High and Redland Green.

U12s did well in their first 7s season and finished in 3rd place with wins over The Downs, Mount Kelly and Clifton College.

Well done, boys!

There is no doubt in my mind that were it not for QEH, and ALL the staff within it, he would not have achieved so much nor would he be the person he is today.
